Come Train with Us

We are delighted that you are inspired to consider training with us. We train health professionals, educators, and farmers in core curriculum components of breathing, movement, bulk cooking and foundations for health to be used a platform to create your own program design.  Whether its a half day of meditation and berry picking or running a retreat center, everyone tailors the content to serve their talents and vision. 

 

 

For 2012, we have condensed to offering a five day training so we can tend to our research and fundraising efforts as well.

(In the past, an 8 day training has been run in partnership with incredible partners like Shelburne Farms VT, Heifer International Overlook Farm in MA and Metta Earth Institute in VT).

Our Training Offers...

  • immersion in the Heart as an organ that regulates group and pysiological interaction(Stephen Bruhners book The Secret Teaching's of Plants p1-158 is highly reccomended pre-reading)
  • Key elements of transformational teaching, collaborating, communication, community building, marketing, networking, gardening, cooking, and working with different seasons, weather, and communities to help people be more fully at home
  • Deepening understanding of the elements integral to our teaching and our lives – the soil, foods, forces, air, water and light
  • Identifying your strengths and work with your challenges 
  • How you can forge respectful and productive partnerships with your local farm based on criteria and checklists offered in the training.

$500 for 5 days including tuition, housing and food


(Farmers can create flexible participation/fees given how busy spring and fall is and the challenge of getting away - be in touch and let us know how we can support you in attending)


Our host sites offer a rustic heated Lodge dorm with bunk beds (Waltham - outdoor composting toilet and showers at the Y near by and Heifer has toilets and showers indoors) 


Space is limited and reservations before March 1 get 10% discont. A $100 deposit will hold your space. 

 

A limited number of work study slots and scholarships are available. Please be in touch as soon as possible if finances are a limit to your participation, as we want to find ways to support anyone motivated to offer this work into the world. 

 

Experiential learning is integral to the program, so everyone gets a very real sense of running retreats by having daily responsibilities in food preparation, dishes, and chores.
